A warm welcome awaits you at Kootenay Park Lodge. Escape the stresses of every day life and relax in nature's lap. The lodge's General Manager, Paul V. Holscher, and his attentive staff will ensure your getaway will be one to cherish. There is no other development for miles, your only neighbors are the wild animals that make the valley their home.
Rustic, cozy log cabins with fireplaces, acclaimed dining, a gift and snack shop and an information centre provide day and overnight visitors with the services they need to fully experience the beauty of Kootenay National Park. We are located in the centre of the park, along Highway 93 South, at Vermilion Crossing and are the only development for many miles (or kilometers). Banff, Lake Louise and Radium Hot Springs are all an easy 45 minute drive from the Lodge. Several world class hiking trails and great fishing spots are close by.
Our onsite information centre is available for you to plan your hiking trip, buy passes, fishing licenses and back country permits, view interesting exhibits and pick up brochures on Mountain Parks and South East British Columbia. The Kootenay Lodge general store serves up fresh coffee, deli sandwiches, other snacks, souvenirs, unique gifts and clothing for your convenience.

The dining room and cabin services begin in mid May, operating through to late September, the Visitor's Center is open from mid April until Canadian Thanksgiving (mid October).
Simple. Authentic. Elegant. Affordable. You'll feel that you have stepped back in time walking among our historic buildings and experiencing our friendly service. We don’t have cell phone service or television/cable reception but we do have beautiful scenery and loads of wildlife.
