Victoria, BC, May 3, 2005 - In an effort to connect pet-toting travellers with certified pet service providers, Pets Can Stay has established new strategic relationships with Pet Sitters International (PSI) and the All Canadian Pet Services Network (ACPSN). The new relationships will involve various cross-promotional efforts including adding certified pet sitters to Pets Can Stay Travel's online pet service directory and travel referral service, event support and reciprocal web links. "The Pets Can Stay program is based on standards and quality assurance, so it makes sense for us to partner with organizations that share these values for their particular industry." adds Scott Beddall, Pets Can Stay's Director of Operations. "When we refer a pet professional to one of our clients, we want to have confidence that the service provider is highly qualified. Both PSI and ACPSN utilize education and professional guidelines to ensure their members provide the best possible service."
Current initiatives include an upcoming PCS Travel newsletter article on how professional pet sitters and dog walkers can improve a vacation with a pet, and distribution of Pets Can Stay brochures at the ACPSN booth at Woofstock this Summer. Pets Can Stay and the Holiday Inn On King are also sponsoring the upcoming Pet Sitters International 'Gateway to Success' Canadian Conference in June 2005, which will help support the Toronto Humane Society.
Background
Pet Sitters International is the largest organization for professional pet sitters in the world. The association was founded to educate professional pet sitters and to promote, support and recognize excellence in pet sitting. PSI provides professional pet sitters with various member benefits and the opportunity to network with peers who share a common vision of excellence in at-home pet care.
All Canadian Pet Services Network is a relatively new professional not-for-profit organization for Pet Sitters and Dog Walkers across Canada that is committed to providing the best possible care to peoples' pets, and the most comprehensive member services in the industry. ACPSN is committed to ensuring members are skilled and educated in providing care, and to educate and inform pet parents on the important role of pet care providers in today’s society.
