Prince
Edward Island
Prince Edward Island is located on Canada's east coast, nestled between the
provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Québec and
Newfoundland in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The
crescent-shaped province is 224 km (139 miles) long, between
6 km and 64 km (four and 40 miles) wide and is accessible
year-round by bridge and by air, as well as from May through
December by car ferry.
A vivid burst of colour, Prince Edward Island is the perfect
vacation destination and is a favourite with travellers.
Each year, visitors travel to PEI to experience its scenic
beauty, abundance of activities,
history and culture (we are Canada’s birthplace, after
all!), world-class golf, sandy beaches, fresh seafood and
the story of Anne of Green Gables.
PEI is best described as a tiny island playground with a
landscape defined by gently rolling hills, red cliffs and
breathtaking ocean vistas. And, while spring and summer are
considered by many to be the Island’s most beautiful
seasons, PEI’s fall and winter are also a delight for those
looking for outdoor activities like cycling, hiking,
snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.
